ARMENIA: EXPLORE & EXPERIENCE TOUR

ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL & WELCOME DINNER

Pick up at the airport and transfer to the hotel in Yerevan, accommodation and rest.

Welcome dinner in Armenian traditional restaurant with a folk program.

 The evening walk from Northern Avenue to Republic Square. Participation in Dancing fountains show.

DAY 2: REFLECTION OF HISTORY

Etchmiadzin - Zvartnots  - Tsitsernakaberd - Yerevan

  • TSITSERNAKABERD (The Armenian Genocide memorial complex) - a solemn reminder of the first genocide of the 20th century

  • SAINT ECHMIADZIN (one of the oldest churches in the world) – the spiritual center of Armenia, (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

  • 7th-century ZVARTNOTS CATHEDRAL (UNESCO World Heritage Site) - a masterpiece of early medieval Armenian architecture.

  • Overnight Yerevan

DAY 3: SOUL & WINE

Yerevan- Khor Virap- Areni - Birds' Cave - Noravank - Goris

  • Morning Meditation and Yoga

  • The KHOR VIRAP "deep dungeon“(established in 642 CE): the most famous pilgrimage site in Armenia. Get to know the mysterious story behind it.

  • ARENI (tour, wine tasting). Visit the winemaking region where wines from the indigenous grape sort produced.

  • Trchuneri (Bird’s) cave: THE OLDEST WINERY in the world (6000 years old)

  • 13th-century NORAVANK MONASTERY; through a narrow canyon get to the valley of red rock where this masterpiece is located.

DAY 4: MYSTERIOUS SITES OF ARMENIA 

Goris – Carahunge – Tatev – Khndzoresk - Goris

  • TATEV MONASTERY (9th century) - one of the most magnificent creations of medieval Armenian architecture

  • WINGS OF TATEV; The longest Ropeway in the world (5,752 meters)

  • The Armenian “Carahunge” (Stonehenge) – the oldest observatory (7500-year-old), a megalithic and mystical monument in southern Armenia

  • Mysterious SWINGING BRIDGE that will connect you to a network of man-made caves; OLD KHNDZORESK CAVE VILLAGE

  • Overnight Goris

DAY 5: ARMENIAN BLUE PEARL 

Goris – Selim – Noratus – Hayravank – Sevan Lake- Sevan Monastery Complex – Dilijan

  • SELIM PASS, the road that encompasses miles of stunning views through twisty hairpin corners, high elevations, and steep grades. 

  • NORATUS,  a medieval cemetery with many early khachkars (handmade cross-stones, Armenian masterpiece)

  • HAYRAVANK, a 9th to12th-century Armenian monastery 

  • SEVAN – the largest lake in the Caucasus, the “blue pearl of Armenia” and one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world

  • SEVANAVANK monastic complex (founded in 874) from where a marvelous scene opens in the north-western part of Sevan

DAY 6: ARMENIAN GREEN BEAUTY

Dilijan - Matosavank - Haghartsin - Parz Lake

  • OLD DILIJAN (Tufenkian center)

  • Short hike to a hidden church MATOSAVANK 

  • 13th-century MONASTERY HAGHARTSIN - an indescribable example of a blend of nature with architecture.

  • PARZ LAKE  located in the Dilijan National Park
